1. Introduction

Welcome to Reel Mind. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website and use our application.

2. The Data We Collect About You

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together follows:

• Identity Data: includes username and password (securely hashed).
• Content Data: URLs of Instagram Reels you send to our bot, and the generated transcriptions and categorizations.
• Usage Data: information about how you use our website and services, including Google Analytics data (anonymized).

3. Instagram Data & Share-to-Display Feature

When you share an Instagram Reel via direct message (DM) to our Instagram account, we collect information required to process and save that Reel for you:

• Collected Data: The URL of the Reel, the Instagram media ID, and the sender ID.
• Purpose: We use this data solely to download, transcribe, categorize, and display the Reel back to you within your personal Reel Mind dashboard. We do not use this data for personalized advertising.
• Data Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of any data we have collected from your Instagram account. You can remove shared Reels directly from your dashboard or revoke our app's access via your Instagram account settings, which will trigger an automated data deletion request to our servers.

4. The Public Explore Page

Reel Mind has a public Explore page that shows a small preview of saved Reels grouped by category. It is visible to anyone, including people without an account. You agree to this when you create your account.

• What is shown: a link to the original Instagram post, its caption, and Instagram's own thumbnail image.
• What is never shown: your username or account ID, transcripts, extracted on-screen text, saved frames, or anything else that ties a Reel to you. The Explore page cannot be used to see whose library a Reel came from.
• Asking to be excluded: email us at koradiyaangel11@gmail.com and we will exclude your Reels from the Explore page. Your dashboard is unaffected. Because the page is cached, an exclusion takes effect at the next scheduled rebuild.

5. How We Use Your Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

• To register you as a new user.
• To process and deliver your Reel transcriptions and categorizations.
• To manage our relationship with you.
• To use data analytics to improve our website, products/services, marketing, customer relationships and experiences.

6. Where Your Data Is Processed

Reel Mind runs on third-party infrastructure. Processing a Reel involves three different kinds of relationship, described separately below because they are not the same thing.

Hosting. To process a Reel, its audio and a set of extracted video frames are sent from our API to processing services that we operate. Those services run on Hugging Face. As our hosting provider, Hugging Face handles that content on our behalf while a Reel is being processed, in the same way any hosting provider handles the data running on its servers.

Models. Transcription, on-screen text extraction, and categorization are performed by models that run inside our own services. We do not send your Reel content to an external AI provider's API — for example OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic — and we do not use your content to train models.

Web search. To categorize a Reel more accurately, a short text excerpt from the Reel's content is sent to DuckDuckGo as a search query, and the results are used as topic context. No account identifier is attached to that query.

The providers involved are:

• Vercel: hosting for the website and the API.
• Hugging Face: hosts our AI processing services, and therefore handles Reel audio and extracted frames while they are being processed.
• MongoDB Atlas: database storage for your account and your saved Reels.
• DuckDuckGo: receives the short text excerpt described above as a search query during categorization.
• Google: website analytics and advertising, as described in the sections below.
• Meta / Instagram: the platform the Reels are shared from, governed by its own privacy policy.

These providers may store or process data outside your country of residence. We share data with them only to the extent needed to run the Service, and we do not sell your data.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our providers use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. The Service cannot work without it.
• Analytics: Google Analytics, used to understand how the site is used in aggregate.
• Advertising: Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, as described in the next section.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking the session cookie will sign you out. You can opt out of personalized Google advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.

8. Advertising (Google AdSense)

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.
