Transforming How You Save Content

Reel Mind was built to solve a modern problem: digital hoarding. We help you turn your chaotic Instagram saved folder into an organized, searchable database of knowledge and inspiration.

What happens to a Reel

Four steps, all of them automatic. The card in your dashboard fills in as each one finishes, so a Reel is usable before it is finished.

01

You share a Reel

It is saved to your library immediately, before any processing starts, so nothing is lost if a later step fails.

02

The audio is transcribed

A speech-to-text model turns what is said in the Reel into searchable text.

03

On-screen text is read

Representative frames are scored and picked, then optical character recognition pulls out captions burned into the video.

04

A category is assigned

A language model reads the transcript, the on-screen text, and the caption together, then files the Reel under a topic with a confidence score.

Why you sign up in a DM

It is the strangest part of the product, and it is not a design choice. Instagram only tells the bot which account a message came from — there is no way for a Reel shared in a DM to find a library that was created in a browser.

So the first DM does the binding. You message the bot your chosen username and password, that account is tied to your Instagram ID, and from then on every Reel you share lands in the right place. Afterwards you sign in on the web like anything else.

The docs walk through the exact message to send.

Your data, plainly

You are trusting a bot with an account and with things you found worth saving. The short version of what that means:

Models run on our own services

Your Reels are not sent to an external AI provider’s API, and your content is not used to train models.

Creator videos are never re-hosted

A Reel is stored as a link back to the original Instagram post. Copyright stays with whoever made it.

Your library is yours

The public Explore page never shows your username, your transcripts, or anything tying a Reel to you — and you can opt out of it entirely.

The long version, including every provider involved and what each one receives, is in the Privacy Policy.

What it doesn’t do

Worth knowing before you rely on it.

Instagram only

A DM to the bot is the only way content enters your library. There is no import from anywhere else.

Not a backup service

If a Reel is deleted on Instagram, the link stops working. Reel Mind should not be the only copy of anything you care about.

Processing can fail

Silent videos, heavy accents, and unusual formats all trip up the pipeline. A Reel that cannot be classified still lands in your library under a fallback category.

Categories are a guess

They are a model prediction with a confidence score, not a fact. Custom categories exist because the default ones will sometimes be wrong.
